Over the last few days we have followed to the letter the guidelines set down by the HSE regarding safe spacing, sanitation and hand sanitisers. But despite these measures we just don’t feel it goes far enough.
Hearing from family in friends in Italy who are currently experiencing the deadly aspects of this virus we feel that closing is the only responsible action at this time. We are a bar, Restaurant and Hotel and controlling all these elements within our business is a very large demand from our staff who are themselves at risk each day with contact.
As families are at the core of our business and community we have made the decision to close for two weeks. The exact date to re-open will be guided by government advice.
We would ask that everyone takes this time to enjoy each other’s company with your family, to cook together. Try and re-create some of our dishes at home. We will post some recipes and demos over the next two weeks to give you some tips on how to make simple dishes stretch and also cooking for children so watch this space for our YouTube channel.
Hopefully at the end of this we can all meet again in the way we always have, with friends, over food and a pint as is our tradition. Stay safe and mind each other.
